ROSE COUSINS ALBUM WINS CANADIAN MUSIC AWARDS
Rose Cousins’ new album WE HAVE MADE A SPARK took home Contemporary Singer of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards AND Music Nova Scotia’s Folk Recording of the Year

A year ago, Rose Cousins launched a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $25,000 to make her record WE HAVE MADE A SPARK and short film IF I SHOULD FALL BEHIND, about the community of songwriters and musicians in Boston where the album was made. Cousins made this video, one of many updates she has continued to send to backers throughout the year, with members of her Halifax community – songwriter and community organizer Don Brownrigg, songwriter, performer and Halifax Poet Laureate Tanya Davis, and actor, singer, dancer and writer Stewart Legere.
