“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.”

Our Team

Michelle Conceison

Nashville, TN USA [founder 2004]
A veteran of ad agencies in Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco, before music Michelle worked with major consumer brands. She bought some of the first keywords Google sold in 1999. Later, as Vice President Director of Media, she built and led Search practices in Boston and Chicago. She managed teams through startup and growth that formed the media landscape, and has been involved in many innovations. Conceison first applied her marketing skills in music volunteering to help artists in 2001. In 2003, while in business school, Conceison wrote a plan.  A year later, she founded the company. An enhanced version of that plan won a competition in 2006, providing initial funding for the company to have its first presence at a music conference. She hasn’t looked back. Michelle is a past President of the board of Folk Alliance International, serving 3 terms (9 years) – and a 2017 “Spirit of Folk” Award Winner. She is Secretary of the board of the International Bluegrass Music Association, and a member of the Leadership Bluegrass class of 2019. She is Women in Music’s global Chair of Mentorship. She is a tenure-track professor of Recording Industry at MTSU.

Hannah Phaneuf

Nashville, TN USA [2023]
Born and raised in Southern California, Hannah Phaneuf moved to Nashville as soon as she was old enough to leave home and never looked back. She graduated from Belmont University with a BBA in music business and worked at Sugar Hill records, starting off as an intern and moving up to publicity coordinator. Music is her life and working at Sugar Hill was a dream come true.

After Sugar Hill, Hannah started a social media sales business that she ran from home while raising her four kids. When live music returned after the pandemic, it kindled a fire in her and Hannah knew she needed to return to her roots.

With 9 years experience in social media marketing under her belt, Hannah joined the team at Mmgt to get back to doing what she loves the most - helping to promote the music that she loves.

In her spare time you’ll find her cross-stitching, playing the banjo, tap dancing, or traveling across the US and Canada to see her favorite bands with friends.

Ali Sperry

Nashville, TN USA [2018]
Mmgt is Ali’s first official foray working on the business side of music. She has managed her own singer-songwriter career and is enjoying integrating her first-hand experience, relationships and knowledge with the expertise of the M team. Ali studied Musical Theater at Syracuse University and moved to Nashville to join an all-female country band in 2009. After a couple years with the band she went solo, and has released three full length albums and an EP. She’s toured solo and with band, and knows well the challenges and exultations that life as an artist can offer. Ali is also a yoga instructor and teaches both privately and at studios in Nashville. She lives in Madison, TN with her husband, drummer Jamie Dick.

Jodi Sinatra

Boston, MA USA [2001]
Jodi Sinatra was the very first graphic designer to work with Mmgt (then called Market Monkeys), doing graphic design work for our first album release for our first artist Rachel McCartney. Through the years, Jodi’s contributions to all of our work has enabled us to continue to maintain a high level of design quality and keep up with the speed the music industry commands. We are grateful for this longstanding relationship.

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
